Digital pathways connecting social and biological factors to health outcomes and equity

open access: yesnpj Digital Medicine
Digital pathways extend conventional connections between social and biological factors and health outcomes, significantly influencing health equity. Data representation bias and distribution shifts are key mechanisms through which determinants of health ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Connected Even Factors in the Square of Essentially 2-Edge-connected Graph

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2017
An essentially $k$-edge connected graph $G$ is a connected graph such that deleting less than $k$ edges from $G$ cannot result in two nontrivial components. In this paper we prove that if an essentially 2-edge-connected graph $G$ satisfies that for any pair of leaves at distance 4 in $G$ there exists another leaf of $G$ that has distance 2 to one of ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Investigation of wear mechanism of tread during operation of railway wheels [PDF]

open access: yesTransport Problems, 2012
Causes of wear particles formation on railway wheels tread were investigated. Structural factors connecting with plastic deformation, formation of “white layer”, and also with non-metallic inclusions and corrosive products of wheel steel, defining wear ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Determination of conditions for ensuring reliable lubrication of connecting rod bearings of automobile engines

open access: yesИнтеллект. Инновации. Инвестиции, 2020
The relevance of the work is due to the need to study the patterns of lubrication of the connecting rod bearings of the crankshaft of an automobile engine in order to exclude the influence of various factors on the risk of cranking the bearings - sudden ...
