The connection section between cyclones and backpass is an important configuration in multi-cyclone circulating fluidized bed boilers (CFB). In this work, the resistance coefficient of different connection modes, and connection resistance distribution ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Self-Organized Synchronization Phenomena in Spatiotemporal Coupled Oscillator Model for Emergent Systems [PDF]
The author proposes a spatiotemporal coupled Lorenz model with an excitatory-excitatory connection or an excitatory-inhibitory connection, which consists of three temporal coupling coefficients c1,2,3 and three spatial coupling coefficients d1,2,3.

Investigations of friction-relevant parameters to ensure reliable bolted joints
During the process of torque-controlled tightening of bolted joints, the reliability of load transmission is limited by the achieved accurate preload. The preload is mainly influenced by head‐ and thread friction.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Shortness Coefficient of Cyclically 4-Edge-Connected Cubic Graphs [PDF]
Grünbaum and Malkevitch proved that the shortness coefficient of cyclically 4-edge-connected cubic planar graphs is at most 76/77. Recently, this was improved to 359/366 (< 52/53) and the question was raised whether this can be strengthened to 41/42, a natural bound inferred from one of the Faulkner-Younger graphs.

The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...
