Standardized Coefficients of Multiple Regression Beyond One and Multicollinearity Diagnostics

open access: yesAxioms
Standardized coefficients of multiple regression, also known as beta coefficients, by absolute value are usually smaller than one, but sometimes they can exceed one.

On Subspaces of an Almost 𝝋-Lagrange Space

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2012
We discuss the subspaces of an almost 𝜑-Lagrange space (APL space in short). We obtain the induced nonlinear connection, coefficients of coupling, coefficients of induced tangent and induced normal connections, the Gauss-Weingarten formulae, and the ...

The Trouble with Diffusion

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2002
The phenomenological formalism, which yields Fick's Laws for diffusion in single phase multicomponent systems, is widely accepted as the basis for the mathematical description of diffusion.

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Linearization and connection coefficients of orthogonal polynomials [PDF]

open access: yesMonatshefte fr Mathematik, 1992
Let \(\{P_ n\}_{n=0}^ \infty\) be a system of orthogonal polynomials. R. Lasser observed that if the linearization coefficients of \(\{P_ n\}_{n=0}^ \infty\) are nonnegative then each of the \(P_ n\) is a linear combination of the Tchebyshev polynomials with nonnegative coefficients. The aim of this paper is to give a partial converse to this statement.

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

The inverse and derivative connecting problems for some hypergeometric polynomials

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2018
Given two  polynomial sets $\{ P_n(x) \}_{n\geq 0},$ and $\{ Q_n(x) \}_{n\geq 0}$  such that $\deg ( P_n(x) ) = \deg ( Q_n(x) )=n.$ The so-called connection problem between them asks to find coefficients  $\alpha_{n,k}$ in the expression $\displaystyle ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Evolution‐guided yeast complementation reveals functional differences in human PSPH variants

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Ancient genomes can help guide which human genetic variants are tested experimentally. This study applies that idea to PSPH, a gene involved in serine biosynthesis, and uses high‐throughput yeast complementation to compare variant function. The findings reveal measurable differences among selected alleles and illustrate the value of evolution‐guided ...

Sheffer and Non-Sheffer Polynomial Families

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2012
By using the integral transform method, we introduce some non-Sheffer polynomial sets. Furthermore, we show how to compute the connection coefficients for particular expressions of Appell polynomials.
