On Certain Aspects of Topological Indices

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
A topological index, also known as connectivity index, is a molecular structure descriptor calculated from a molecular graph of a chemical compound which characterizes its topology.

Understanding sediment connectivity from soil erosion perspective

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan, 2021
Sediment connectivity is closely related to geomorphology, topography, ecological hydrology, soil erosion, nutrient and pollutant movement, and water quality conservation. As one of the hot topics in soil erosion research during the past decade, sediment

A METHODOLOGY FOR CITY LEVEL URBAN ROAD NETWORK CONNECTIVITY ANALYSIS USING GEOGRAPHICAL INFORAMTION SYSTEMS (GIS) [PDF]

open access: yesCivil Engineering Journal, 2020
In most of the urban cities in India, the existing road network structure is unable to meet the increasing travel demand. In this context, there is a need to utilize the existing road network ina more efficient manner.

Gutman index, edge-Wiener index and edge-connectivity

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics, 2020
Summary: We study the Gutman index \(\mathrm{Gut}(G)\) and the edge-Wiener index \(W_e (G)\) of connected graphs \(G\) of given order \(n\) and edge-connectivity \(\lambda\). We show that the bound \(\mathrm{Gut}(G) \leq\frac{2^4 \cdot 3}{5^5 (\lambda+1)} n^5 + O(n^4)\) is asymptotically tight for \(\lambda \geq 8\). We improve this result considerably

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

On Eccentricity-Based Topological Indices Study of a Class of Porphyrin-Cored Dendrimers

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2018
It is revealed from the previous studies that there is a strong relation between the chemical characteristic of a chemical compound and its molecular structure.

A simple method to assess the fragmentation of freshwater fish meta-populations: Implications for river management and conservation

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2021
Rivers are very vulnerable to fragmentation caused by the presence of man-made barriers. To restore river basin connectivity, numerous indices have been developed to calculate river fragmentation and optimise barrier mitigation actions.

Brainstem atrophy in focal epilepsy destabilizes brainstem-brain interactions: Preliminary findings. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BACKGROUND: MR Imaging has shown atrophy in brainstem regions that were linked to autonomic dysfunction in epilepsy patients. The brainstem projects to and modulates the activation state of several wide-spread cortical/subcortical regions.
