Transcriptional regulation of neuropeptide receptors underlies context‐dependent adaptation in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under environmental changes, the expression level of neuropeptide (NP) and neuropeptide receptor (NPR) genes changes to confer context‐dependent adaptation to the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. Through finding more regulatory elements in the NPR genes in comparison with their ligands (NPs), we found that NPR‐biased transcriptional regulation ...

Leakage Research of Split-type Air-conditioner using R290 as Refrigerant

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
The ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warming potential (GWP) of HCFCs and HFCs are higher than hydrocarbons (HCs). R290 is perfect in environmental protection and energy saving performance.

Analysis of reticulated dome with universal connector

open access: yesActa Polytechnica
In order to investigate the stress-strain state of a 4 m diameter reticulated dome model, four series of glued wooden rods were prepared for centric and eccentric compression tests. The tests were carried out in the laboratory of the Department of Metal

Diffusion‐based size determination of solute particles: a method adapted for postsynaptic proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We present a diffusion‐based approach for measuring the size of macromolecules and their complexes, and demonstrate its use on postsynaptic proteins. The method requires fluorescein‐labelled protein samples, a microfluidic device that maintains laminar flow for said samples, a microscope recording the emitted fluorescent signals, and an analytic ...

The association between stent design and patient exercise intensity: structural coupling effects and hemodynamic analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
IntroductionIn-stent restenosis remains a significant challenge in coronary artery interventions. This study aims to explore the relationship between exercise intensity and stent design, focusing on the coupled response of the stent structure and ...

Electrical pulse stimulation reflecting the episodic nature of real‐life exercise modulates metabolic and secretory profile of primary human myotubes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Here, we introduced an intermittent electrical stimulation protocol mimicking the episodic nature of real‐life exercise in vitro by alternating low‐ and high‐frequency stimulation. In comparison with widely used continuous stimulation, it enhanced the rate of glucose and fatty acid oxidation, but not the myokine release.
