This study investigates the impact of complex chromosomal rearrangement (CCR) breakpoints on pediatric developmental delay and epilepsy. By integrating karyotype analysis with WES and/or WGS, we identified an inversion on chromosome 3 likely affecting ROBO1/DNAJC13/ACAD11 in one patient and a complex chromosome 1 rearrangement with a novel KCNA2 ...

ABSTRACT Catch‐and‐release fishing campaigns have aided in fish conservation. In some cases, this success has perversely led to the decline of trophy fish via increased fish density. Little information exists on how to best address such cases of widely spread, but imperfectly implemented, social norms in fisheries. Our study tested a variety of message

The Effects of Suspended Sediments, Dye, and Their Variation on Fish Behavior
Human activities are affecting the visual environments of freshwater ecosystems by introducing visual pollutants such as artificial dyes and elevated suspended sediment levels. Our research shows that dyes and suspended sediments can have contrasting effects of fish behavior, with dye increasing and sediments decreasing movement.

Managing for resilience with ecological structure: Portfolio effects in the Laurentian Great Lakes
Combined effects of global change, including land conversion, biological invasions, and overexploitation, have degraded the resilience of ecosystems and the services they provide. Here, we identify key ecological structures and processes that can be targeted by management to improve resilience at scales ranging from single species to entire landscapes.
