Consensus for the Fip35 folding mechanism? [PDF]
Recent advances in computational power and simulation programs finally delivered the first examples of reversible folding for small proteins with an all-atom description. But having at hand the atomistic details of the process did not lead to a straightforward interpretation of the mechanism.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

An Overview and Comparison of Blockchain Consensus Mechanisms [PDF]
Blockchain technology has revolutionized digital systems by ensuring trust, transparency, decentralization, and security. However, in the democratic nature of blockchain networks, there is a huge underlying dependency on consensus mechanisms, but the challenges associated with these, such as energy costs, network attacks, preservation of privacy ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

LVTM: A lightweight blockchain-based V2G terminal trust management method
As an important part of the smart grid (SG), Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) has significantly advanced the development of the grid. However, the open nature of V2G system itself and the deployment of charging piles (CPs) increase the difficulty of terminal ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

A model-based online mechanism with pre-commitment and its application to electric vehicle charging
We introduce a novel online mechanism that schedules the allocation of an expiring and continuously-produced resource to self-interested agents with private preferences.

The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.
