Evaluating the use of recycled glass in Cuban concrete production

open access: yesMinería y Geología, 2020
With the purpose of using recycled glass in concrete mixtures as a partial substitute for sand and cement in Cuba, researches are carried out. This article shows the result at a laboratory scale in substituting fine aggregate and cement with ground glass

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Utilization of waste paper pulp ash as a partial cement replacement in cement mortar: a sustainable approach

open access: yesDiscover Civil Engineering
This study presents a novel approach to sustainable construction by utilizing waste paper pulp ash (WPPA) as a partial replacement for Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) in mortar, addressing the problem of high carbon emissions and waste disposal associated

The exact consistency strength of the generic absoluteness for the universally Baire sets

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma
A set of reals is universally Baire if all of its continuous preimages in topological spaces have the Baire property. $\mathsf {Sealing}$ is a type of generic absoluteness condition introduced by Woodin that asserts in strong terms that the theory

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

On the consistency strength of ‘Accessible’ Jonsson Cardinals and of the Weak Chang Conjecture

open access: yesAnnals of Pure and Applied Logic, 1983
It is shown that if \(\lambda\) is a Jónsson cardinal, and either \(\lambda =\omega_{\xi}\) with \(\xi

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.
