Association of Area Deprivation Index With Cochlear Implant Candidacy and Outcomes
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.This retrospective study of 515 adult CI recipients (2017–2022) found that greater neighborhood‐level deprivation (higher ADI) independently predicted poorer pre‐implant speech recognition and quality of life, but had no association with post‐CI outcomes.

A Multicenter Study of Cochlear Implantation in Adults With Prolonged Unilateral Deafness
The Laryngoscope, EarlyView.In this multicenter retrospective cohort study of 68 adults with prolonged (> 10 years) unilateral severe‐to‐profound hearing loss undergoing cochlear implantation, most patients demonstrated meaningful speech perception gains and sustained device use, with mean word recognition scores improving by 28.4% (p < 0.001).
