Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Élisée Reclus et les États-Unis

open access: yesTerra Brasilis, 2016
Comment les convictions intimes influencent-elles l’écriture d’une œuvre scientifique ? Leur caractère « subjectif » permet-il de franchir les préjugés du temps et ceux des collègues, pour enrichir le savoir « objectif » par un travail original ?

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

L’accentuation des composés : une histoire de relations

open access: yesAnglophonia
This paper looks at compound word stress in pronouncing dictionaries from the 18th century through to the present day (Walker, 1791; Jones, 1963, 2011; Wells, 1991, 2008), as well as the online version of the Oxford English Dictionary.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

André Vitalis, L’Incertaine Révolution numérique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Too soon to know: exploring the conditions of existence of the constituent power

open access: yes, 2023
This Afterword takes up the challenge presented by Sergio Verdugo’s Foreword and explores how Costantino Mortati formulated the concept of material constitution to address the questions raised by both Verdugo and proponents of constituent power theory ...

Evaluating theories: Counting nodes and the question of constituency

open access: yesLanguage Under Discussion, 2019
This paper is a reply to Timothy Osborne’s paper Tests for constituents: What they really reveal about the nature of syntactic structure that appeared 2018 in Language under Discussion. This paper discusses how constituent tests work and why it is no problem if they are not applicable.
