Nietzsche and Self-Constitution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper argues for interpreting Nietzsche along the lines of a self-constitution view. According to the self-constitution view, a person is a kind of creation: we constitute our selves throughout our lives.

Redox‐dependent binding and conformational equilibria govern the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this work, we reveal how different enzyme binding configurations influence the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in live cells using time‐resolved anisotropy imaging and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM). Mathematical modelling shows that the redox states of the NAD and NADP pools govern these configurations, shaping their fluorescence ...

The Workers\u27 Constitution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This Article argues that the National Labor Relations Act of 1935, Social Security Act of 1935, and Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 should be understood as a “workers’ constitution.” The Article tells the history of how a connected wave of social ...

Neutrophil deficiency increases T cell numbers at the site of tissue injury in mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In wild‐type mice, injury or acute inflammation induces neutrophil influx followed by macrophage accumulation. Mcl1ΔMyelo (neutrophil‐deficient) mice lack neutrophils, and in response to muscle injury show fewer macrophages and exhibit strikingly elevated T‐cell numbers, primarily non‐conventional “double‐negative” (DN) αβ and γδ T cells.

Coping with unobservables in estimating production functions: An example with US banking data

open access: yesSustainable Futures, 2021
This paper (i) derives a number of properties of a newly specified multi-input-single-output (MISO) production function with a derived error term, and (ii) using iteratively rescaled generalized least squares, presents estimates of the cross-sectionally ...

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

THE CALIFORNIA Journal of Politics & Policy Commentary Constitutional Reform, Yes; Constitutional Convention, No Robert W. Naylor* Nielsen, Merksamer, Parrinello, Mueller and Naylor Someone should survey the people who favor a con- stitutional convention to find out if there is any agreement whatsoever on what the convention should do. My guess: opinion
