Prevalence of constitutive and inducible clindamycin resistance among clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus in a tertiary care institute in North India

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2017
Background: Clindamycin is an important drug used in the treatment of Methicillin Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) as well as in Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections. This drug is widely used in the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections caused by them.

Antibacterial and Antibiofilm Activity of a Chemically Characterized Cinnamomum verum Bark Methanolic Extract Against Multidrug‐Resistant Bacteria: Preliminary Antibiotic–Interaction Screening and Exploratory Molecular Docking

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
The methanolic extract of Cinnamomum verum exhibited antibacterial and antibiofilm activities, enhanced the efficacy of conventional antibiotics against multidrug‐resistant bacteria, and showed favorable interactions with key bacterial targets in molecular docking analyses, supporting its potential as a natural antimicrobial adjuvant for combating ...

Inducible clindamycin resistance in coagulase negative staphylococci [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Induced clindamycin resistance poses a major problem for the use of this drug to treat staphylococcal infections. An infectious etiology is often implicated in the presence of CoNS in clinical specimens.

Antibacterial Effect of the In Vitro Interaction Between Clotrimazole and Chlorhexidine Against Staphylococcus pseudintermedius With Known Resistance Patterns Isolated From Canine Pyoderma

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
The 2:1 chlorhexidine–clotrimazole combination demonstrated enhanced antibacterial activity against canine Staphylococcus pseudintermedius isolates, including resistant strains. Reduced MIC values, predominantly additive interactions and absence of antagonism support its use as a promising topical strategy for canine pyoderma management.

[Constitutive and inducible clindamycin resistance among nosocomially acquired staphylococci].

open access: yesMikrobiyoloji bulteni, 2009
Antimicrobial resistance in Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) has become an increasing problem in hospital settings. These strains often reveal resistance to various drug classes in addition to beta-lactam resistance. Clindamycin, as a well-tolerated and cost-effective antimicrobial agent, is used widely in the treatment ...

Patterns of Surgical Prophylaxis Prescribing for Dentoalveolar Procedures in Australian Hospitals: 2016–2022

open access: yesAustralian Dental Journal, Volume 71, Issue 3, Page 231-241, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Antimicrobials are an adjunctive therapy in clinical dentistry. In dentoalveolar surgery, antimicrobials are not routinely required for surgical prophylaxis. This retrospective analysis of the Australian Surgical National Antimicrobial Prescribing Survey (Surgical NAPS) dataset aimed to evaluate the guideline compliance and ...

Vaginal carriage and antibiotic susceptibility profile of group B Streptococcus during late pregnancy in Ismailia, Egypt

open access: yesJournal of Infection and Public Health, 2009
Summary: Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infection has long been recognized as a frequent cause of morbidity and mortality in newborn infants. The purpose of this study was to determine the colonization rate with GBS and the antibiotic susceptibility profile

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profile of Healthcare-Associated Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus with Special Reference to Vancomycin and Ceftaroline

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2022
Purpose: Healthcare-associated Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (HA-MRSA) infection is a major public health concern around the world. HA-MRSA strains are normally multidrug resistant and treatment options are limited. Selection of appropriate

Age‐Related and Seasonal Variation in Malaria and Other Causes of Fever and Their Association With Clinical Outcomes in Southern Angola: A Hospital‐Based Study

open access: yesTropical Medicine &International Health, Volume 31, Issue 9, Page 1273-1283, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Acute febrile illnesses in sub‐Saharan Africa are often attributed to malaria, yet many patients test negative for malaria parasites. The aetiology of nonmalarial fevers remains understudied. Here, we examine likely causes of febrile illnesses and their association with poor clinical outcomes in Angola.

Prevalence of inducible clindamycin resistance amongst methicillin resistant and sensitive strains of Staphylococcus aureus from a tertiary care hospital, West Bengal, India.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endorsing Health Science Research
Background: Staphylococcus aureus is a prevalent pathogen causing both nosocomial and community-acquired infections worldwide. The emergence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) due to the acquisition of mecA and mecC genes poses a ...
