A Smart Fluid‐Hydraulic System Based on MRF Valve Control and Its Application in Flexible Grasping

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a smart fluid hydraulic system using MRF valve control for flexible gripping. An MRF‐MSV with an integrated excitation coil and micro‐textured damping channels is designed and validated; micro‐texturing increases hydraulic resistance. Coupled with a soft actuator, the MRF‐MSV enables dynamic bending and grasping.

Topology Optimization for Minimizing the Resonant Response of Plates with Constrained Layer Damping Treatment

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2015
A topology optimization method is proposed to minimize the resonant response of plates with constrained layer damping (CLD) treatment under specified broadband harmonic excitations.

Néel‐Vector‐Dependent Unconventional Spin‐Orbit Torque for Deterministic Field‐Free Switching in NiO (110)‐Based Trilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Unconventional spin currents are generated in an antiferromagnetic NiO(110)/Ta/CoFeB trilayer, where the Néel vector governs spin transport. The resulting spin–orbit torques enable deterministic field‐free switching of perpendicular magnetization.

Vibration control of beams and plates with hybrid active-passive constrained layer damping treatments

open access: yes, 2016
The concept of hybrid active-passive constrained layer damping treatments, which consists of viscoelastic materials, piezoelectric materials and elastic constraining materials, was proposed in the 1990s in order to ameliorate problems of instability in ...

Thermally Induced Vibration of a Flexible Plate with Enhanced Active Constrained Layer Damping

open access: yesAerospace
When spacecraft execute missions in space, their solar panels—crucial components—often need to be folded, unfolded, and adjusted at an angle. These operations can induce numerous detrimental nonlinear vibrations.

Multiscale Modelling of the Electrocatalysis of Microenzymes: Insights Into the Performance of Microperoxidase at an Aqueous/Graphene Interface and Their Exploitation to Improve Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel multiscale MD/DFT framework to elucidate microenzyme adsorption and electron transfer is reported. This method reveals distinct configurations for microperoxidase‐11 on graphene and those best suited for electron transfer. Rate constants align with the limited experimental data, establishing this framework as a tool for optimizing microenzyme ...

Dynamic modeling and frequency-dependent parameter identification of double-lap bolted plates with constrained layer damping

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal
The double-lap bolted thin plates are widely adopted in the aerospace field, but are prone to vibration due to low stiffness and damping. This study establishes the finite element dynamic model for such plates with constrained layer damping (CLD).

Vibration and Damping Analysis of a Multilayered Composite Plate with a Viscoelastic Midlayer

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2016
Based on the theory of Donnell and Kirchhoff hypothesis and by using the complex constant model of viscoelastic materials, the vibration equations of five-layered constrained damping plate are established. The transfer matrix method (TMM) is improved and

Wafer‐Scale Atomically‐Thin Gold: Transferable Platform for Flexible Optoelectronics, Thermal Management and Bio‐Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combining template stripping with a graphene‐inspired transfer yields continuous, transferable gold films at 6‐inch wafer scale with thicknesses approaching the atomic limit. The atomically smooth, near‐bulk‐quality films offer above 86% transmittance and sub‐20 Ω/square sheet resistance, serving as a universal platform for flexible optoelectronics ...

Microenvironment‐Responsive Nanomedicine Enables Vertical Modulation of Mitochondrial Pathological Networks in Myocardial Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A mitochondria‐targeted, microenvironment‐responsive nanoplatform enables pH/ROS‐triggered co‐delivery of berberine and isoliensinine to orchestrate ROS scavenging, inflammation suppression, and apoptosis inhibition. This vertical modulation of mitochondrial pathological networks preserves mitochondrial function and effectively mitigates myocardial ...
