Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Computer support for constructionism in context

open access: yes, 2004
The benefits of constructionism as a learning paradigm are widely recognised. Though the constructionist philosophy can be seen as applying to activities that are not necessarily computer-based (such as bricolage and concept mapping), its modern ...

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...

Konstruktivisme, konstruksionisme en maatskaplike werk

open access: yesKoers : Bulletin for Christian Scholarship, 2000
Constructivism, constructionism and social work In this article the constructivistic framework of reasoning is illustrated with reference to the premises of the structure determinism of Maturana, Kelly's personality constructs theory, and the radical ...

Enriching Computer Support for Constructionism

open access: yes, 2006
The dominant emphasis in current e-learning practice is instructionist in character. This is surprising when we consider that the benefits of constructionism as a learning paradigm are so widely recognised. Moreover, though the constructionist philosophy
