Long‐Term Elevated CO2 Improves Soil Health and Rice Yields in Paddy Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combining the two longest‐running rice free‐air CO2 enrichment experiments with a global data synthesis, this study demonstrates that long‐term elevated CO2 consistently enhances soil health. In rice paddies, this improvement sustains the CO2 fertilization effect over decades.

Multi-fuzzy Rough Sets based on Implicators and Continuous t-norms

open access: yesFuzzy Information and Engineering, 2017
This paper extends the study of multi-fuzzy rough sets using an implicator and a continuous t-norm and thus introduces multi-fuzzy rough sets based on fuzzy logical connectives.

Chloroplast Fibrillin‐Mediated α‐Tocopherol Biosynthesis Impaired by a Virus to Enhance Infection and to Improve Drought Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ToCV‐encoded p22 targets chloroplast plastoglobules (PGs) via directly binding PG structural protein FBN1.1, reducing the size of PG and inhibiting α‐tocopherol biosynthesis via competing with tocopherol cyclase (VTE1). Consequently, the elevated chloroplast ROS not only creates a suitable cellular environment for efficient ToCV infection but also ...

Cryopreserved Human Otic Neuronal Spheroids Self‐assemble for Functional Connectivity Analysis and Long‐term Ototoxicity Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes a robust and reproducible protocol for generating human otic neuronal spheroids (hONS) from cryopreserved hPSC‐derived pre‐placodal ectoderm cells. These hONS further differentiate into functional SGN‐like neurons, which extend neurite projections toward both murine hair cells and human cortical organoids, thereby forming ...

THE “BAROQUE SKYLINE” IN NAPLES. STRUCTURAL STUDIES ON 16TH AND 17TH CENTURY DOMES IN TERMS OF FORM AND STABILITY

open access: yesArchitecture and Engineering, 2020
Introduction: Walking through the streets of the historic center of Naples and taking a glance at the sky, you may notice that its skyline is determined by the countless peculiar architectural elements, the domes precisely, that stand out from the ...

Polynomial algorithms that prove an NP-hard hypothesis implies an NP-hard conclusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A number of results in Hamiltonian graph theory are of the form $\mathcal{P}$$_{1}$ implies $\mathcal{P}$$_{2}$, where $\mathcal{P}$$_{1}$ is a property of graphs that is NP-hard and $\mathcal{P}$$_{2}$ is a cycle structure property of graphs that is ...

Regulation of Excitonic Behavior in Defective Acetylenic Polymers Enables Mechanism Switching in O2 Activation for Enhanced Water Decontamination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A molecular defect‐mediated charge accumulation strategy is developed to regulate the exciton behavior for selective molecular oxygen (O2)activation in poly(1,3,5‐triethynylbenzene) (PTEB). Artificial internal electric field (IEF) constructed in defective PTEB provides internal driving force to steer the directed migration of charge carriers, thereby ...

La hipótesis generalizada del continuo (HGC) y su relación con el axioma de elección (AE)

open access: yesCrítica, 2018
The so called Generalized Continuum Hypothesis (GCH) is the sentence: "If A is an infinile set whose cardinal number is K and 2K denotes the cardinal number of the set P(A) of subsets of A (the power set of A), and K + denotes the succesor cardinal of K,

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

The Constructive Standard Model: Part I

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we construct the complete set of minimal 3-point vertices for the massive Standard Model (SM) based purely on symmetry principles, mass dimension and high-energy behavior and without any recourse to field theory, gauge symmetries or ...
