Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

Contact Mechanics of Nanoparticles

Langmuir, 2012
We perform molecular dynamics simulations on the detachment of nanoparticles from a substrate. The critical detachment force, f*, is obtained as a function of the nanoparticle radius, R(p), shear modulus, G, surface energy, γ(p), and work of adhesion, W. The magnitude of the detachment force is shown to increase from πWR(p) to 2.2πWR(p) with increasing

Mathematical Modeling in Contact Mechanics

2023
Summary: We present some considerations on the modeling and variational analysis of mathematical models describing the contact between a deformable body and an obstacle. We exemplify our approach by the study of an elasto-visco-plastic problem with a normal compliance and Coulomb friction.
