Use of primary healthcare services prior to suicide in Norway: a descriptive comparison of immigrants and the majority population

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research, 2019
Background There is an increase in studies investigating the use of healthcare services prior to suicide. Although studies generally report high usage, there are no previous studies comparing immigrants’ use of primary healthcare (PHC) prior to suicide ...

The effect of autotrawl systems on the performance of a survey trawl [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Three aspects of a survey bottom trawl performance—1) trawl geometry (i.e., net spread, door spread, and headrope height); 2) footrope distance off-bottom; and 3) bridle distance off-bottom—were compared among hauls by using either of two autotrawl ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Thermal conductance of and heat generation in tire-pavement interface and effect on aircraft braking [PDF]

open access: yes
A finite-difference analysis was performed on temperature records obtained from a free rolling automotive tire and from pavement surface. A high thermal contact conductance between tire and asphalt was found on a statistical basis.

Photolysis of lead azide in contact with copper oxide (I) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
It is stated that alongside with decrease of photolysis velocity and photocurrent in the area of intrinsic absorption of lead azide the addition of Cu2O extends the range of spectral sensitivity, but preliminary processing of the system by light (?=365 ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Facet‐Dependent Charge Dynamics of 2D Butylammonium Lead Bromide Perovskite Single Crystals

open access: yesSmall Structures
2D halide perovskites such as BA2PbBr4 exhibit highly anisotropic optoelectronic properties arising from their unique layered crystal structure. While most previous studies have focused on polycrystalline thin films, single‐crystal systems remain less ...
