On contact problems for nonlinear parabolic functional differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2004
The results of [3] by W. Jäger and N. Kutev on a nonlinear elliptic transmission problem are extended (in a modified way) to nonlinear parabolic problems with nonlinear and nonlocal contact conditions.

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Fracture and contact problems for an elastic wedge [PDF]

open access: yes
The plane elastostatic contact problem for an infinite elastic wedge of arbitrary angle is discussed. The medium is loaded through a frictionless rigid wedge of a given symmetric profile.

Numerical solution of perfect plastic problems with contact: part I - theory and numerical methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The contribution deals with a static case of discretized elasto-perfectly plastic problems obeying Hencky’s law in combination with frictionless contact boundary conditions.

A fretting crack initiation prediction taking into account the surface roughness and the crack nucleation process volume

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents an experimental study of the fretting crack nucleation threshold, expressed in terms of loading conditions, with a cylinder/plane contact.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.

Assessment of cardiovascular risk in patients with primary chronic gout combined with metabolic syndrome

open access: yesMìžnarodnij Endokrinologìčnij Žurnal, 2019
Background. The purpose of the study is to ivestigate the frequency of metabolic syndrome (MS) and to assess the total cardiovascular risk in patients with primary chronic gout, depending on the presence of MS. Materials and methods.

Contact and crack problems for an elastic wedge [PDF]

open access: yes
The contact and the crack problems for an elastic wedge of arbitrary angle are considered. The problem is reduced to a singular integral equation which, in the general case, may have a generalized Cauchy kernel.

Regularity of the minimiser of one-dimensional interaction energies

open access: yes, 2019
We consider both the minimisation of a class of nonlocal interaction energies over non-negative measures with unit mass and a class of singular integral equations of the first kind of Fredholm type. Our setting covers applications to dislocation pile-ups,

Novel Tailoring of Ternary ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 Nanocomposite Heterojunction and Its Tunable Electrochemical Properties With Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...
