Effect of Press on Thermal Contact Resistance
The thermal contact resistance between polymer composites and aluminum alloy is the main parameters of thermal control design in the field of space and its heat transfer mechanism is very complex. This work is to combine experimental and numerical approaches to evaluate the nature of thermal contact between polymer composites and aluminum alloy ...

Noncured Graphene Thermal Interface Materials for High-Power Electronics: Minimizing the Thermal Contact Resistance [PDF]
We report on experimental investigation of thermal contact resistance, RC, of the noncuring graphene thermal interface materials with the surfaces characterized by different degree of roughness, Sq. It is found that the thermal contact resistance depends

Thermal Spreading Resistance in Multilayered Contacts: Applications in Thermal Contact Resistance
Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 1999Application of highly conductive coatings to contacting surfaces is a commonly employed method to enhance thermal contact conductance. In many applications it is often necessary to apply an intermediate coating such that the conductive coating may be applied to a nonadhering substrate.

Thermal Resistance of Contacts
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1973In order to obtain accurate thermal resistance data for contacts under high loads (i.e., P/M > 2×10−3) it is not always necessary to employ a high vacuum for transverse thermal insulation, or a guard-heater arrangement.

Introduction to Thermal Contact Resistance
2023Contact resistance has been an area of interest in engineering applications dating as far back as 1930. Yovanovich (2005) provides a comprehensive historical overview of the field with emphasis on the research-intensive period spanning the early 1960s to early 2000s.

Thermal resistance of silicon point contacts
Physical Review B, 1989We investigate thermal transport on microcontacts established between two silicon wedges. The measurements are carried out with a variable contact radius of 0.3--2 \ensuremath{\mu}m at temperatures from 2 to 300 K. The measured thermal resistance is used to calculate the contact radius with an accuracy better than 50%.

A Device for the Skin–Contact Thermal Resistance Measurement
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2012The skin-contact thermal resistance is a parameter that allows evaluating, in steady condition, the heat flow at the interface between the skin and a rigid surface at a known temperature. At the current state of the art, it is evaluated with empirical equations and is known to be dependent on the contact pressure, on the surface characteristics, and on

Thermal resistances of pressed contacts
Applied Energy, 1986Abstract Contacts between two surfaces under mechanical load occur frequently in numerous structures, yet their behaviour when heat is transferred across them is usually not fully appreciated. The present review is aimed at assisting the designer in understanding the intricacy of this problem and the factors involved.
