Perlustration on Image Processing under Free Hand Sketch Based Image Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Internet of Things, 2018
In general information retrieval has taken vast diversions in visualizing the content presentation for the users who generates the queries for the system, where it includes the concept of content based Image Retrieval to provide the results in a better ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

System refinement for content based satellite image retrieval

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences, 2012
We are witnessing a large increase in satellite generated data especially in the form of images. Hence intelligent processing of the huge amount of data received by dozens of earth observing satellites, with specific satellite image oriented approaches ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Content‐based image retrieval system via sparse representation

open access: yesIET Computer Vision, 2016
The aim of image retrieval systems is to automatically assess, retrieve and represent relative images‐based user demand. However, the accuracy and speed of image retrieval are still an interesting topic of many researches.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Who's Afraid of Adversarial Queries?: The Impact of Image Modifications on Content-based Image Retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Conference on Multimedia Retrieval, 2019
An adversarial query is an image that has been modified to disrupt content-based image retrieval (CBIR), while appearing nearly untouched to the human eye. This paper presents an analysis of adversarial queries for CBIR based on neural, local, and global
