Effects of Context on Talker Identification
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967The ability to identify talkers from monosyllables spoken in context was examined: Kersta's method of visually comparing spectrograms was employed. Ten observers were trained to identify five talkers from spectrograms of two words spoken in isolation.

It is a commonplace that all judgments are relative; the problem has been to discover what they are relative to-that is, to specify how different features of the context determine the judgments.

Effects of diagnosis and context on dangerousness
American Journal of Psychiatry, 1988The authors extensively reviewed the medical records of 253 patients hospitalized on a locked, university-based psychiatric unit. They found that schizophrenic and manic patients were more likely than patients with other diagnoses to be assaultive before admission. In the hospital, however, manic patients were the most likely to be assaultive.
