Contextualism

open access: yes, 2012
A number of distinct (though related) issues are raised in the debate over Contextualism in the philosophy of language. My aim in this chapter for the Cambridge Handbook of Pragmatics is to disentangle them, so as to get a clearer view of the positions available (where a 'position' consists of a particular take on each of the relevant issues ...

4D‐Printable Poly(Thio)urethane Photoresins With Reactive Oxygen Species Responsiveness and Anti‐Inflammatory Functionality

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces UV‐curable poly(thio)urethane (PSU) thermosets as 4D printable scaffolds responsive to oxidative stress. PSU networks with 100 wt.% polypropylene glycol (PPG) effectively suppress inflammatory markers in microglial cells to basal values.

Non-indexical contextualism, relativism and retraction [PDF]

Epistemological Implications of Relativism [PDF]

Triplet‐Triplet Annihilation Enhances Photochemical Curing Contrast for Vat‐Based 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Triplet–triplet annihilation photopolymerization (TTAP) resins enhance curing contrast for digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing compared to conventional Type I and II photopolymerizations at matched optical densities. By exploiting a superlinear initiation response, TTAP preserves fine details, allowing reliable fabrication of complex structures ...

Making it Public: Testimony and Socially Sanctioned Common Grounds

open access: yesInformal Logic, 2008
Contrary to current individualistic epistemology, Classical rhetoric provides us with a pragmatical and particularly dynamic conception of ‘testimony’ as a source made available for the orator by the particular community in which she acts.

Three things to do with knowledge ascriptions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Any good theory of knowledge ascriptions should explain and predict our judgments about their felicity. I argue that any such explanation must take into account a distinction between three ways of using knowledge ascriptions: to suggest acceptance of the
