Invariant Measure and Universality of the 2D Yang–Mills Langevin Dynamic
ABSTRACT We prove that the Yang–Mills (YM) measure for the trivial principal bundle over the two‐dimensional torus, with any connected, compact structure group, is invariant for the associated renormalised Langevin dynamic. Our argument relies on a combination of regularity structures, lattice gauge‐fixing and Bourgain's method for invariant measures ...

Optimal boundary geometry in an elasticity problem: a systematic adjoint approach [PDF]
p. 509-524In different problems of Elasticity the definition of the optimal geometry of the boundary, according to a given objective function, is an issue of great interest.

Hodge metrics and positivity of direct images
Building on Fujita-Griffiths method of computing metrics on Hodge bundles, we show that the direct image of an adjoint semi-ample line bundle by a projective submersion has a continuous metric with Griffiths semi-positive curvature.

ABSTRACT Increasing electricity demand from data centres, industrial applications, electric vehicles and domestic heating is creating pressure to develop electricity systems in many parts of the world, but especially in Western countries. In response to challenges such as grid congestion, interconnection queues and climate‐related hazards, network ...

Optimization of Airfoils Using the Adjoint Approach and the Influence of Adjoint Turbulent Viscosity
The adjoint approach in gradient-based optimization combined with computational fluid dynamics is commonly applied in various engineering fields. In this work, the gradients are used for the design of a two-dimensional airfoil shape, where the aim is a ...

Intraday Functional PCA Forecasting of Cryptocurrency Returns
ABSTRACT We study the functional PCA (FPCA) forecasting method in application to functions of intraday returns on Bitcoin. We show that improved interval forecasts of future return functions are obtained when the conditional heteroscedasticity of return functions is taken into account.

Asymptotic formulas for a scalar linear delay differential equation
The linear delay differential equation $$ x'(t)=p(t)x(t-r) $$ is considered, where $r>0$ and the coefficient $p:[t_0,\infty)\to\mathbb{R}$ is a continuous function such that $p(t)\to0$ as $t\to\infty$. In a recent paper [M. Pituk, G. Röst, Bound.

Control and Optimization of Interfacial Flows Using Adjoint-Based Techniques
The applicability of adjoint-based gradient computation is investigated in the context of interfacial flows. Emphasis is set on the approximation of the transport of a characteristic function in a potential flow by means of an algebraic volume-of-fluid ...
