A 16-yr-old male patient with hemochromatosis due to multiple packed red blood cell transfusions was referred to our emergency center for the treatment of severe aplastic anemia and dyspnea. He was diagnosed with aplastic anemia at 11-yr of age. He had received continuous transfusions because an HLA-matched marrow donor was unavailable.

A graphene oxide/collagen scaffold is developed for chronic massive rotator cuff tear repair. The scaffold improves compressive stability, supports reparative mesenchymal differentiation, and modulates the immune microenvironment. In chronic MRCT models, it reduces muscle degeneration, enhances tendon–bone regeneration, and improves functional recovery,

Inspired by natural amino acid polymer‐melanin systems, this study strategically incorporated tellurocysteine to develop advanced radiation‐shielding materials. This approach transformed the primary interaction mechanism between melanin‐based materials and incident photons from Compton scattering to the photoelectric effect. Tellurocysteine‐polymerized

Iron chelation for treating obesity and components of the metabolic syndrome
Epidemiological studies suggest a link between iron stores and components of the metabolic syndrome. Human subjects with iron overload syndromes are more prone to obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Excess iron can generate Reactive Oxygen Species (

An adhesive hydrogel depot with polyphenol‐armored nanogenes is developed for treating aged osteoarthritis. This system maintains miR‐140 bioactivity, prolongs its intra‐articular retention, and enhances transfection into chondrocytes, leading to the downregulation of senescence‐associated pathways.
