HyperBSA: A High-Performance Consortium Blockchain Storage Architecture for Massive Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
With the considerable exploration of blockchain in various industrial fields, the storage architectures of mainstream consortium blockchains exhibit significant performance limitations, which can't meet the requirements of efficient data access with ...

Soft but Not Too Soft—How a Rigid Tube Expands without Breaking

open access: yesmBio, 2021
Fungi grow by apical extension of their hyphae. The continuous growth requires constant delivery of vesicles, which fuse with the membrane and secrete cell wall biosynthesis enzymes.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Continuous linear extension of functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Let be a complete metric space. We prove that there is a continuous, linear, regular extension operator from the space of all partial, continuous, real-valued, bounded functions with closed, bounded domains in to the space of all continuous, bounded ...

Mappings with finite length distortion and Riemann surfaces

open access: yesДоповiдi Нацiональної академiї наук України
We prove a series of criteria in terms of dilatations for the continuous and homeomorphic extension of the map pings with finite length distortion between domains on Riemann surfaces to the boundary.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Publications in Uremic Toxins From 1991 to 2024

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Uremic toxins are a growing area of research in nephrology, with significant implications in the progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and the management of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD). This bibliometric analysis aims to evaluate the global research trends, key contributors, and the impact of publications in ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Sandwich-type characterization of completely regular spaces

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2007
All the higher separation axioms in topology, except for complete regularity, are known to have sandwich-type characterizations. This note provides a characterization of complete regularity in terms of inserting a continuous real-valued function.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
