Utilizing multiple pheromones in an ant-based algorithm for continuous-attribute classification rule discovery. [PDF]
The cAnt-Miner algorithm is an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) based technique for classification rule discovery in problem domains which include continuous attributes. In this paper, we propose several extensions to cAnt- Miner.

An Extension of MATLAB to Continuous Functions and Operators [PDF]
Summary: An object-oriented MATLAB system is described for performing numerical linear algebra on continuous functions and operators rather than the usual discrete vectors and matrices. About eighty MATLAB functions from plot and sum to svd and cond have been overloaded so that one can work with our ``chebfun'' objects using almost exactly the usual ...

Ramanujan and extensions and contractions of continued fractions [PDF]
If a continued fraction $K_{n=1}^{\infty} a_{n}/b_{n}$ is known to converge but its limit is not easy to determine, it may be easier to use an extension of $K_{n=1}^{\infty}a_{n}/b_{n}$ to find the limit. By an extension of $K_{n=1}^{\infty} a_{n}/b_{n}$ we mean a continued fraction $K_{n=1}^{\infty} c_{n}/d_{n}$ whose odd or even part is $K_{n=1 ...

Extending maps between pre-uniform spaces
We give sufficient conditions on a uniformly continuous map f: (X,U) → (Y, V ) between completable T1-pre-uniform spaces (X,U), (Y, V ) to have a continuous or a uniformly continuous extension f:X → Y between the corresponding completions.

Continuous Uniform Finite Time Stabilization of Planar Controllable Systems [PDF]
Continuous homogeneous controllers are utilized in a full state feedback setting for the uniform finite time stabilization of a perturbed double integrator in the presence of uniformly decaying piecewise continuous disturbances.

On continuous extensions of grafting maps [PDF]
The definition of the grafting operation for quasifuchsian groups is extended by Bromberg to all $b$-groups. Although the grafting maps are not necessarily continuous at boundary groups, in this paper, we show that the grafting maps take every "standard" convergent sequence to a convergent sequence.

An exponential continuous time GARCH process [PDF]
In this paper we introduce an exponential continuous time GARCH(p,q) process. It is defined in such a way that it is a continuous time extension of the discrete time EGARCH(p,q) process. We investigate stationarity and moment properties of the new model.

A Lyapunov-Based Extension to Particle Swarm Dynamics for Continuous Function Optimization
The paper proposes three alternative extensions to the classical global-best particle swarm optimization dynamics, and compares their relative performance with the standard particle swarm algorithm.

Generalized Hausdorff compactifications
This article investigates some properties of generalized Hausdorff compactifications of topological T_0-spaces. In particular, it is show that the totality of these compactifications forms a lattice of g-extensions in which there is the maximum element.

Properties of Fuzzy Implications obtained via the Interval Constructor
This work considers an interval extension of fuzzy implication based on the best interval representation of continuous t-norms. Some related properties can be naturally extended and that extension preserves the behaviors of the implications in the ...
