Blinatumomab Utilization in Pediatric B‐Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: Experience From the Mountain West

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Blinatumomab is a bispecific T‐cell engager approved for the treatment of pediatric B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B‐ALL). Outpatient home infusion reduces hospitalization burden and optimizes resource utilization, but is logistically challenging.

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

Low-budget 3D-printed equipment for continuous flow reactions

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
This article describes the development and manufacturing of lab equipment, which is needed for the use in flow chemistry. We developed a rack of four syringe pumps controlled by one Arduino computer, which can be manufactured with a commonly available 3D

Continuous flow catalysis with CuBTC improves reaction time for synthesis of xanthene derivatives

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2023
The copper-based metal-organic framework (MOF) CuBTC (where H3BTC = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate) has been shown to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the generation of 1,8-dioxo-octa-hydro xanthene derivatives, which are valuable synthetic ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
