A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Application of the Littlewood-Paley method to Calderon-Zygmund operators [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2022
In this article, we establish the conditions for the pseudo-differential operator T under which this operator can be represented in convolution form with the singular kernel that satisfies |∂ xα ∂ zβ k(x,z)| ≤ Aβα(L)|z|-l-m-|β |-L for all z ≠ 0, and all ...

A commutator method for the diagonalization of Hankel operators

open access: yes, 2010
We present a method for the explicit diagonalization of some Hankel operators. This method allows us to recover classical results on the diagonalization of Hankel operators with the absolutely continuous spectrum. It leads also to new results.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

On a compound approximation operator of D.D. Stancu type

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2006
In this note we consider a linear and positive compound approximation operator of D.D. Stancu type depending of several parameters; we give the expressions of this operator on the test functions, the conditions under which this operator converges to a ...

Efficient low-order refined preconditioners for high-order matrix-free continuous and discontinuous Galerkin methods [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2019
In this paper, we design preconditioners for the matrix-free solution of high-order continuous and discontinuous Galerkin discretizations of elliptic problems based on FEM-SEM equivalence and additive Schwarz methods. The high-order operators are applied

The Newton Method for Operators with Hölder Continuous First Derivative

open access: yesJournal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2001
We analyze the convergence of the Newton method when the first Fréchet derivative of the operator involved is Hölder continuous. We calculate also the R-order of convergence and provide some a priori error bounds. Based on this study, we give some results on the existence and uniqueness of the solution for a nonlinear Hammerstein integral equation of ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

A Reflected–Forward–Backward Splitting Method for Monotone Inclusions Involving Lipschitz Operators in Banach Spaces

open access: yesMathematics
The reflected–forward–backward splitting (RFBS) method is well-established for solving monotone inclusion problems involving Lipschitz continuous operators in Hilbert spaces, where it converges weakly under mild assumptions.

Variational and operator methods for Maxwell-Stokes system

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems. Series A, 2020
In this paper we revisit the nonlinear Maxwell system and Maxwell-Stokes system. One of the main feature of these systems is that existence of solutions depends not only on the natural of nonlinearity of the equations, but also on the type of the ...
