AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Continuous-Time Sparse Signal Recovery

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study investigates a continuous-time method for sparse signal recovery, which is suitable for analog optical circuit implementation. The proposed method is defined by a nonlinear ordinary differential equation (ODE) derived from the gradient flow ...

Games with incomplete information in continuous time and for continuous types

open access: yes, 2012
We consider a two-player zero-sum game with integral payoff and with incomplete information on one side, where the payoff is chosen among a continuous set of possible payoffs.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Doubly stochastic continuous time random walk

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Since its introduction some 60 years ago, the Montroll-Weiss continuous time random walk has found numerous applications due its ease of use and ability to describe both regular and anomalous diffusion. Yet, despite its broad applicability and generality,

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Stability of Continuous Time Difference Systems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis
We propose new sufficient conditions for the exponential stability of a class of nonlinear delay difference equations with continuous time (DECT). The above conditions provide a direct estimation of the exponential decay rate of the system.

On the Continuous-Time Complementarity Problem

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics
This work deals with solving continuous-time nonlinear complementarity problems defined on two types of nonempty closed convex cones: a polyhedral cone (positive octant) and a second-order cone.

Fractional calculus and continuous-time finance II: the waiting-time distribution

open access: yes, 2000
We complement the theory of tick-by-tick dynamics of financial markets based on a Continuous-Time Random Walk (CTRW) model recently proposed by Scalas et al., and we point out its consistency with the behaviour observed in the waiting-time distribution ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
