A semi-continuum model for fluid imbibition under nanoconfinement: Assessing fluid velocity jumps and meniscus acceleration

open access: yes
Fluid imbibition under nanoconfinement exhibits dynamics that significantly deviate from classical continuum predictions, posing unique challenges in understanding nanoscale transport phenomena.

The VHL tumor suppressor at the crossroad of protein folding, aggregation, and cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Mutations, environmental stress, and chaperone dysfunction can destabilize pVHL, promoting its conversion from the native folded state into amyloid‐like assemblies. This transition may contribute to protein storage, cell dormancy, survival, and drug resistance.

Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

APOBEC3 activity and DNA polymerase‐ε deficiency are associated with distinct IDH1 R132 hotspot mutations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutations are highly recurrent in multiple human cancer types, including cholangiocarcinoma and glioma. IDH1 R132C is the most common IDH1 mutation in cholangiocarcinoma and likely arises from APOBEC3A‐ or APOBEC3B‐mediated deamination.

An adaptive lumped-mass dynamic model and its control application for continuum robots [PDF]

open access: yes
Dynamic modeling for continuum robots remains challenging due to their large nonlinear deformation and the variation of dynamic parameters during movement.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
