Projections Along General Contours
1988The powerful CIG in Fig. 3.1 can also be used to generate ramps which are not linear, along with other more sophisticated patterns. For example, the operation \(\sqrt {{c_1}{{(i - {i_1})}^2} + {c_2}{{(j - {j_1})}^2}} \) , where c1, c2, il, and jl are constants, is suitable for generating elliptical ramps, and is specifically useful for drawing circular

A new general triangulation method for planar contours
ACM SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics, 1982The problem of approximating the surface spanning a given set of 3D points as a polyhedron of triangular faces (“triangulation”) is a significant one, and has many applications in the fields of computer graphics and computer vision. In this paper, several solutions to this problem are reviewed.

Automatic generation of pitch contour for speech synthesis
ICASSP '76. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005The rules for the generation of the pitch contour of a fragment of the Italian language are presented. The generative model, of which the input is a formal description of the sentence and outputs the pitch contour, operates as an automaton. The basic elements for the pitch curve generation are the segments between two accents. Inside these segments the

Contour generation and shape restoration of the straight homogeneous generalized cylinder
[1990] Proceedings. 10th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2002The author explores the properties of some simple artificial objects which can be modeled as straight homogeneous generalized cylinders (SHGCs). He considers the analysis of tangency contours of SHGCs by presenting the condition which must be satisfied by the points on the contour generator of any SHGC. The contour generator is planar in an end view or

A New Method for Generating Depth Contours Holographically
Applied Optics, 1968Employing holographic techniques, Hildebrand and Haines have demonstrated that a multiple frequency source can be used to generate range contours on or near an image. Supplementing their system with an auxiliary imaging system, we show that contours can be generated over much larger surfaces.

Description and Generalization of Contour Lines
2019A contour line (also isoline, isopleth, or isarithm) is a line on a map joining points of equal height or depth above or below a level, usually mean sea level. It is often just called a “contour”. Each contour is a closed curve (Veregin 1999, 2000; Cheung and Shi 2004).

A contour display generation algorithm for VLSI implementation
Proceedings of the 9th annual conference on Computer graphics and interactive techniques, 1982Recent articles have discussed the current trend towards designing raster graphics algorithms into VLSI chips. The purpose of these design efforts is to capture some of the real-time animation capability found in vector graphics systems. Currently, real-time vector graphics animation is limited primarily to operations involving coordinate ...
