DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Contour integral solutions of the parabolic wave equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We present a simple systematic construction and analysis of solutions of the two-dimensional parabolic wave equation that exhibit far-field localisation near certain algebraic plane curves.

Product integrals II: Contour integrals

open access: yes, 1978
This paper continues the joint work of the authors begun in the article “On Strong Product Integration” [J. Functional Analysis, submitted]. We consider product integrals along contours; the point of view and development is analogous to the usual complex

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Extensions to the contour integral method for efficient modeling of TM scattering in two-dimensional photonic crystals

open access: yes, 2013
We present an extension to the contour integral method (CIM) for the treatment of two-dimensional scattering problems from circular inclusions with plane wave excitation.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

High frequency difraction by a soft circular disc. I the plane wave at normal incidence

open access: yes, 1971
The far scattered field off the axis of symmetry of the disc is found for a high frequency, harmonic, normally incident, plane wave. The method used is due to Jones and involves the solution of a singular integral equation of the first kind for the field

Mathematical Notes Concerning the Tire Contour Integral

open access: yes, 1971
In developing the mathematics which underlies the design of pneumatic tires, Day and Gehman derived the differential equation for the tire contour shape, valid for any tire, in terms of the tire dimensions and the cord path α(p);
