Both predictability and familiarity facilitate contour integration.
Research has shown that contour detection is impaired in the visual periphery for snake-shaped Gabor contours but not for circular and elliptical contours.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

On some Noetherian criteria for singular integral operators with bounded coefficients
In this paper, Noetherian conditions are established for singular integral operators with measurable and bounded coefficients. The study is carried out in spaces of integrable functions with certain weights, and the integration contour is assumed to be ...

The multichannel integration active contour framework for crack detection
Crack is one of the most important defects to evaluate the health of concrete buildings. Hence, accurate detection is of great significance for the infrastructure maintenance.

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Perceptual learning of contour integration is not compromised in the elderly.
Older adults have decreased ability to extract visual contours from noisy backgrounds. The neural mechanisms underpinning the integration of local features into global shapes are key to human visual object perception.

Some Integrals of Ramanujan and Related Contour Integrals [PDF]
This function is in turn related to the n-functioins of Volterra and others [5, 6], which are useful in the solution of certain integral equations. In this paper, we discuss properties and numerical values of Ramanujan's integral, its derivatives, and the related contour integrals. 2. Relation to Other Integrals. Using the recurrence relations (la) dIk(

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.
