Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

Thermophysical Properties of the Desulphurization Slags With Various CaS and CaO/Al2O3 Ratio

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article investigates how CaS content and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio influence the thermophysical properties of desulphurization slags. Using experimental measurements and thermodynamic simulations, this study reveals complex effects on viscosity, surface tension, and density, providing new insight into slag structure and phase behavior under ...

The Nonidentical in Adorno’s Philosophy [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت و فلسفه
With the critique of the philosophy of identity, Theodor Adorno wishes to shift the concentration of thought to the non-identical. In Adorno's beliefs, from Parmenidus up to Hegel, philosophers sought to overcome contradictions, or to adapt and unify ...

On the origin of cognitive dissonance : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology at Massey University, Manawatu, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Since Festinger (1957) published his monograph describing Cognitive Dissonance (CD), a wealth of research has led to a widely accepted understanding of its nature and effect on human behaviour.

Impact of Sustainable Binders Based on Lignin and Collagen on the Volume Stability and Mechanical Properties of MgO‐C Refractories with MgO‐C Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Collagen hydrolysate is evaluated as a sustainable binder for MgO‐C refractories. Its thermally induced cross‐linking and gas release lead to expansion and cracking in large bricks, but tailored batches with lignin, recyclates, or fine graphite improve the gas release while thermal treatment and stability.

Confrontation of Major Counteracting Forces in the Globalized Market as a Process of Resolving / Intensifying its Contradictions [PDF]

open access: yesProblemi Ekonomiki, 2016
The aim of the article is to study the process of resolving/intensifying the contradictions of the contemporary globalized market by means of identifying the counteracting forces that are critical for the period of the formation of post-industrial ...

Relational Structure of Measurement with Application on Specification of Freeform Surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A contradiction is shown in this paper that, for contact surface measurement, if a measured surface profile is exactly coincident with the USL (upper specification limit), the measured result may still be out of specification.

Kinematic Self-Similar Cylindrically Symmetric Solutions

open access: yes, 2005
This paper is devoted to find out cylindrically symmetric kinematic self-similar perfect fluid and dust solutions. We study the cylindrically symmetric solutions which admit kinematic self-similar vectors of second, zeroth and infinite kinds, not only ...

Tailoring Functional Properties of Ti–Ni–Cu Shape Memory Alloy Thin Films for MEMS Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A comprehensive study of critical parameters required to develop well‐performing Ti–Ni–Cu thin film shape memory alloy microactuators is provided. Materials science and device integration aspects are integrated by addressing structural and physical relationships using complementary characterization techniques as well as a practical fabrication solution
