Control in the coefficients of an obstacle problem

open access: yesMathematical Control and Related Fields
In this work, we consider optimality conditions of an optimal control problem governed by an obstacle problem. Here, we focus on introducing a, matrix valued, control variable as the coefficients of the obstacle problem. As it is well known, obstacle problems can be formulated as a complementarity system and consequently the associated solution ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Standing wave oscillations in binary mixture convection: from onset via symmetry breaking to period doubling into chaos

open access: yes, 2004
Oscillatory solution branches of the hydrodynamic field equations describing convection in the form of a standing wave (SW) in binary fluid mixtures heated from below are determined completely for several negative Soret coefficients.

A ‘top‐down’ approach to the determination of control coefficients in metabolic control theory [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Biochemistry, 1990
A new approach to the determination of flux and concentration control coefficients in metabolic pathways is outlined. Linear pathways are conceptually divided in two around an intermediate metabolite (or group of metabolites) and the control coefficients of the two parts are derived from the elasticity coefficients of the two parts to the intermediate.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Adaptive Model Predictive Control for Cruise Control of High-Speed Trains with Time-Varying Parameters

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2019
The cruise control of high-speed trains is challenging due to the presence of time-varying air resistance coefficients and control constrains. Because the resistance coefficients for high-speed trains are not accurately known and will change with the ...

Stability of the upwind difference splitting scheme for symmetric t-hyperbolic systems with constant coefficients

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics, 2022
In the paper, we consider a two-hyperbolic system with constant coefficients. Control parameters are entered. We note that coefficients depend on the control parameters. We investigate questions of formulation of mixed problems (problems with initial and

Diffusion coefficient measurement using a temperature‐controlled fluid for quality control in multicenter studies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2011
AbstractPurpose:To present the use of a quality control ice‐water phantom for diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW‐MRI). DW‐MRI has emerged as an important cancer imaging biomarker candidate for diagnosis and early treatment response assessment.
