Formation Control With Unknown Directions and General Coupling Coefficients

open access: yesIEEE Systems Journal, 2023
Generally, the normal displacement-based formation control has a sensing mode that requires the agent not only to have certain knowledge of its direction, but also to gather its local information characterized by nonnegative coupling coefficients. However, the direction may be unknown in the sensing processes, and the coupling coefficients may also ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Solvability of an optimal control problem in coefficients for ill-posed elliptic boundary-value problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
We study an optimal control problem (OCP) associated to a linear elliptic equation $-\hbox{div}(A(x)\nabla y+C(x)\nabla y)=f$. The characteristic feature of this control object is the fact that the matrix $C(x)$ is skew-symmetric and belongs to $

Stability of the upwind difference splitting scheme for symmetric t-hyperbolic systems with constant coefficients

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics, 2022
In the paper, we consider a two-hyperbolic system with constant coefficients. Control parameters are entered. We note that coefficients depend on the control parameters. We investigate questions of formulation of mixed problems (problems with initial and

Determination of control coefficients in intact metabolic systems [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1994
The control structure of a metabolic system can in principle be determined without the need for purification of the component enzymes and study of their kinetic properties, provided that their activities can be perturbed by amounts sufficient to produce measurable changes in the steady-state variables, i.e.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Optimization of Droop Control Coefficients in a Isolated Microgrid Cluster Using Particle Swarm Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes
The isolated operation of microgrid clusters (MGC) must ensure proper voltage and frequency control continuously, in addition to maintaining the load and establishing an efficient distribution among the microgrids (MGs).

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Optimal Control Problems in Coefficients for Degenerate Equations of Monotone Type: Shape Stability and Attainability Problems

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study a Dirichlet optimal control problem for a nonlinear monotone equation with degenerate weight function and with the coefficients which we adopt as controls in L∞(Ω).

An EWMA control chart for the multivariate coefficient of variation [PDF]

open access: yesQuality and Reliability Engineering International, 2019
AbstractMonitoring the multivariate coefficient of variation over time is a natural choice when the focus is on stabilising the relative variability of a multivariate process, as is the case in a significant number of real situations in engineering, health sciences, and finance, to name but a few areas.
