A new optimization method for steam-liquid level intelligent control model in oil sands steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) process

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2016
In order to prevent steam breakthrough and improve thermal efficiency in the process of SAGD development of oil sands by real-time adjustment on injection-production temperature difference (Subcool) according to the growth situations of steam chamber ...

Volume growth, temperedness and integrability of matrix coefficients on a real spherical space

open access: yes, 2016
We apply the local structure theorem and the polar decomposition to a real spherical space Z=G/H and control the volume growth on Z. We define the Harish-Chandra Schwartz space on Z.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Flow Control over the Blunt Trailing Edge of Wind Turbine Airfoils Using Circulation Control

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
A new partial circulation control (PCC) method is implemented on the blunt trailing edge DU97-Flatback airfoil, and compared with the traditional full circulation control (FCC) based on numerical analysis.

Bragg-type soliton mirror

open access: yes, 2006
We study soliton reflection/transmission at the interface between uniform medium and the optical lattice with focusing Kerr nonlinearity. We reveal that such interfaces afford rich new opportunities for controlling the reflection and transmission ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Romberg ratio coefficient in quiet stance and postural control in Parkinson’s disease

open access: yesNeurological Sciences, 2018
The aim of this study was to determine the function of visual afference in postural control in Parkinson patients. We enrolled 29 patients and 30 healthy controls. The stabilometry test was performed for posture and balance and Romberg ratio coefficients were calculated.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...
