An adaptive retrofit reconfigurable flight controller

Proceedings of the 41st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002., 2003
In this paper we propose an adaptive retrofit reconfigurable control (ARRC) algorithm suitable for flight control applications. The algorithm is relatively simple and easy to implement, and assures that the control objective will be achieved despite the presence of the unknown loss of effectiveness of the control effectors.

Control design for reconfigurability

Proceedings of 1995 American Control Conference - ACC'95, 2005
This paper is concerned with the design of reconfigurable control laws for fault tolerant systems. From the control design point of view the issue of performance robustness during the system normal operation versus failure sensitivity at the time of a system component failure is addressed. To achieve a balanced design, a parametrized set of controllers

A reconfigurable Direct Control Allocation method

2013 European Control Conference (ECC), 2013
In the event of failure of actuators in an overactuated system a reconfigurable law is required to redistribute and coordinate the control effort among the remaining healthy actuators. In this paper, a modified lookup table based Direct Control Allocation method is proposed for reconfiguration of actuator command, for a single actuator fault, without ...

Design and Control Concept for Reconfigurable Architecture

Journal of Mechanical Design, 2015
Shape-control in an architectural context is expected to provide unique opportunities for buildings with enhanced functionality, flexibility, energy performance, and occupants comfort. An architectural concept is proposed which consists of a parallel arrangement of planar n-bar mechanisms formulating its skeleton structure and a membrane material ...

Reconfigurable arrays by phase-only control

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1991
A novel approach to the synthesis of arrays reconfigurable by controlling only the phase of the excitations is presented. This approach makes it possible to choose the best amplitude distribution during the synthesis, instead of choosing it a priori. The method is based on the projection approach to array synthesis.

A Reconfigurable Parallel Processor with Microprogram Control

IEEE Micro, 1982
This system's microprogrammable features, implemented through a simple data routing scheme, require only about 18 percent of the total number of processing-element gates.

Autonomous control reconfiguration

IEEE Control Systems, 1995
This article looks at autonomous control reconfiguration, particularly as it relates to fault accommodation and learning systems. To illustrate the types of difficulties encountered and to serve as a focus, two specific approaches are presented. The first approach uses multiple models to represent uncertain system characteristics.

Flight Control Reconfiguration

2003
Research into fault-tolerant control is a very actual problem and attracts many investigators. Their proposed solutions have fallen into two categories: passive and active. In the passive category, the impaired aircraft continues to operate with the same controller; the effectiveness of the scheme depends upon the original control law’s possessing a ...

Hybrid Reconfigurable Control

2007
A severe fault renders a system inoperable by breaking the control loops. The task of control reconfiguration is to change the control structure in response to the detected fault. A two-level approach for control reconfiguration is presented. Firstly, a discrete-event model of the faulty system is used to design a discrete controller that brings the ...
