Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

An Additional Damping Control Strategy for Grid-Forming Energy Storage to Address Low-Frequency Oscillation

open access: yesEnergies
Grid-forming (GFM) energy storage can be utilized as a backup power source for the power grid to ensure the security of the power grid. GFM energy storage can also enhance the strength of the power grid and improve its stability.

Integrated Control Strategies Supporting Autonomous Functionalities in Mobile Robots [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, 2006
High-level intelligence allows a mobile robot to create and interpret complex world models, but without a precise control system, the accuracy of the world model and the robot's ability to interact with its surroundings are greatly diminished.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Control Strategies

open access: yes, 2015
This chapter studies control strategies. Control strategies are listed and explained. It focuses on modeling vaccination in single-strain and multistrain diseases. Different modes of introducing vaccination in models are shown. Imperfect vaccination as a mechanism leading to backward bifurcation and strain replacement is explained.

MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF SMOKING BEHAVIOR: TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OPTIMAL CONTROL

open access: yesBarekeng
Smoking remains a critical global public health challenge, with both traditional tobacco use and the rising prevalence of e-cigarettes contributing to significant morbidity and mortality. This study introduces a novel mathematical model that captures the

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Parameter Optimization of Automatic Emergency Braking System forCommercial Vehicle Based on JT/T 1242-2019

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2020
Safety distance parameter is one of the most important parameters in the control strategy of automatic emergency braking system(AEBS). This paper introduced the control strategy of the automatic emergency braking system and the calculation model of ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
