Control Variations in Sliding Mode Control

Proceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
The purpose of this paper is to present a frame-work in which high-order control variations are employed in sliding mode control to modify the sliding dynamics and/or reduce the dimension of the sliding surface. Control variations are implemented as sampled data feedback controllers with the variations generated during the sample intervals.

Distributed Control with Controller Gain Variations

2017
In the last few chapters, we have addressed the filtering problem of wireless networks with energy constraints and filter gain variations. From this chapter onwards, we turn to discuss the stabilization problem. In this chapter, the attention is focused on the non-fragile distributed stabilization of large-scale system, in which the controller gain ...

Control-variate selection criteria

Naval Research Logistics, 1992
Summary: For multiresponse simulations requiring point and confidence-region estimators of the mean response, we propose control-variate selection criteria that minimize mean-square confidence-region volume in two situations: (a) Only the mean control vector is known, and standard linear control-variate estimation procedures are used.

Geometric Variations: Analysis, Optimization and Control

International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 1997
This paper is concerned with the design and manufacturing of 2D and 3D components in the context of process modeling and inspection. A methodology is proposed that models manufacturing processes and learns shape deformations that are the result of out-of-tolerance components.

On control variate estimators

Computers & Operations Research, 1987
The use of different nonlinear control variates when special aspects of the simulation experiment make them advantageous is proposed. A class of estimators that contains new control variates that have advantages over known control variates in special situations is defined. The properties of this class of estimators are investigated.

Variations on Territorial Control

Abstract Case studies give us a broader lens to investigate the adoption of terrorism. Thanks to them, the strategic thinking of the armed groups and how they cope with the constraints of the underground can be examined. The case studies are an important complement to the previous quantitative analysis, highlighting the rebels’ decision ...
