Leptonic Custodial Symmetry, Quantization of the Electric Charge and the Neutrino in the Standard Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
I study, in the leptonic sector, the role of the $SU(2)_V$ custodial symmetry $\ti{\cal G}$ which was shown in ref. [1] to control the quantization of the electric charge in the $J=0$ mesonic sector. The electroweak theory is considered, according to ref.

Phase Dependent Vectorial Current Control in Symmetric Noisy Optical Ratchets [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
In this work we demonstrate single microparticle transport in a symmetric noisy optical ratchet where each potential is a low power ($<2.5$ mW) three dimensional trap. The optical potentials consist of 20 symmetric optical traps arranged in a one-dimensional lattice produced by a spatial light modulator.

Vectorial-Holography metasurface empowered by Orthogonality-Simplified Machine learning

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2022
Metasurfaces can provide unprecedented degree of freedom in manipulating electromagnetic waves and have been introduced to holography. Aiming to explore the full capability for information presentation, vectorial metasurface holography is sprung up ...

Protective immunity against Trypanosoma cruzi [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Upon infection, Trypanosoma cruzi triggers a strong immune response that has both protective and pathological consequences. In this work, several important questions regarding protective immunity are reviewed.

Seasonal and spatial dynamics of the primary vector of plasmodium knowlesi within a major transmission focus in Sabah, Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background The simian malaria parasite Plasmodium knowlesi is emerging as a public health problem in Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysian Borneo where it now accounts for the greatest burden of malaria cases and deaths.

Method of Moments Optimization of Distributed Raman Amplification in Fibers with Randomly Variying Birefringence

open access: yesPhotonics, 2020
In this work, we develop a vectorial model, for optical communications, using distributed Raman amplification (DRA) applied to vectorial soliton pulses in monomode fiber optics.

Perturbative analytic theory of an ultrahigh-Q toroidal microcavity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A perturbation theoretic approach is proposed as an efficient characterization tool for a tapered fiber coupled ultrahigh-quality factor (Q) toroidal microcavity with a small inverse aspect ratio.

A non-separability measure for spatially disjoint vectorial fields

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
Vectorial forms of structured light that are non-separable in their spatial and polarisation degrees of freedom have become topical of late, with an extensive toolkit for their creation and control.
