Convection drying of porous material

Ceramics International, 1994
The kinetics of convection drying of flat tiles has been investigated experimentally in an industrial tunnel dryer. Applying the maximum allowed drying rate curve obtained for a flat tile in the first period of drying, a grapho-analytic model for the optimal management of the process has been developed.

Convective drying kinetics of raspberry

2023
The drying kinetics of raspberry in a laboratory dryer was studied. Fresh, untreated raspberries were dried at selected temperatures of 50 °C with a constant air velocity of 1.2 m/s. The drying rate curves showed that drying process took place only in the falling rate period.

Convective Drying of Ginger Rhizomes

2018
This paper presents the results of convective drying of ginger rhizomes under blanched, unblanched, peeled and unpeeled conditions using the ars-0680 environmental chambers for the drying process and td1002a—linear heat conduction experimental equipment to measure the thermal conductivities of the ginger at six temperature levels ranging from 10 to 60 °

Drying-Induced Stresses during Convective and Combined Microwave and Convective Drying of Saturated Porous Media

Drying Technology, 2009
The formation of drying-induced stresses as well as the drying characteristics are analyzed in the cases of convective and combined convective-microwave drying of a clay sample. A mathematical model describing simultaneous heat and mass transfer coupled to mechanical equilibrium equation was developed.

CONVECTION HEAT TRANSEER COEFFICIENTS AT CONVECTIVE DRYING OF POROUS MATERIALS∗

Drying Technology, 2000
ABSTRACT Our measurements proved that the convective heat transfer coefficient (h) has a larger value hwet at the constant drying rate period and after that it falls down to a minimum one: hdry in the equilibrium dried state (see Fig.1). Our measurements showed also that the heat of vaporisation in the last phase of the falling drying rate period is ...

Convective drying kinetics of strawberry

Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 2008
Abstract The drying kinetics of strawberry in a laboratory dryer was studied. The pre-treated with alkaline ethyl oleate solution and untreated strawberries were dried at selected temperatures of 50, 55 and 65 °C with a constant air velocity of 1.2 m/s. The drying rate curves showed that drying process took place only in the falling rate period. Thin-

Migration during Convective Drying. I‐Theoretical

Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, 1966
A model is proposed which makes possible the mathematical treatment of the movement of solute resulting from the evaporation of solvent from the surface of a capillary network. It is considered useful in predicting the migration of solute in the capillaries of a textile material during the constant–rate period of convective drying. Within the limits of

Comparison of acoustic and convective drying

Journal of engineering physics, 1967
An investigation is carried out into the process of the drying of a ceramic disk involving the use of an acoustic field produced by a gasjet emitter fed by hot air (up to 140° C).

Pore network modeling of convective drying

2006
Drying of porous media is a process of significant scientific and applied interest. It involves several mechanisms at the pore scale that affect the macroscopic behavior of the drying process. These include phase change at the liquid-gas interface, mass and heat transfer by diffusion and convection, capillarity-induced flow through wetting liquid films
