CONVECTIVE DRYING OF PUMPKIN: INFLUENCE OF PRETREATMENT AND DRYING TEMPERATURE
Journal of Food Process Engineering, 2009ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to study the influence of blanching as a pretreatment on the drying rate, color and rehydration rate of pumpkin slices (Cucurbita maxima) dried in a convective dryer at 50, 60 and 70C. The different pretreatments did not modify drying time. The diffusion coefficient depended on temperature and moisture content, but

Drying and Rehydration Behaviors of Convection Drying of Green Peas
Drying Technology, 2011The drying behaviors of green peas were examined in a convection dryer for a temperature range of 55–70°C with a constant air velocity of 2.1 m/s. The green peas were pretreated with ethyl oleate and citric acid solutions and blanched with hot water at 85°C before drying.

Convective drying kinetics of strawberry
Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 2008Abstract The drying kinetics of strawberry in a laboratory dryer was studied. The pre-treated with alkaline ethyl oleate solution and untreated strawberries were dried at selected temperatures of 50, 55 and 65 °C with a constant air velocity of 1.2 m/s. The drying rate curves showed that drying process took place only in the falling rate period. Thin-

On invariants of a convective drying process
Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics, 1992The Lewis relation is proved to be valid in the absence of an analogy between heat and mass transfer. Invariance of temperature and equilibrium curves is established for some drying processes.
