ABSTRACT Objectives Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is the most common etiology of drug‐resistant epilepsy in children. Focal to bilateral tonic–clonic seizures (FBTCS) mark a high risk of drug‐resistant epilepsy and involve thalamocortical circuitry in their generation and propagation.

An Empirical Study on the Existence of Convergence for Energy per Capita
This paper focuses on energy which is a source of many serious environmental problems and examines the existence of convergence of energy per capita amongst countries in order to shed light on whether energy per capita has been growing and whether the ...

Weak convergence to the Student and Laplace distributions
Abstract One often observed empirical regularity is a power-law behavior of the tails of some distribution of interest. We propose a limit law for normalized random means that exhibits such heavy tails irrespective of the distribution of the underlying sampling units: the limit is a t-distribution if the random variables have finite variances.

Long‐Term Neurologic Exam Findings in People Diagnosed and Treated During Acute HIV Infection
ABSTRACT Objective Evaluate clinical and laboratory correlates of abnormal neurologic exam findings after acute HIV infection (AHI). Methods Participants from the RV254/SEARCH 010 cohort in Bangkok underwent standardized neurologic examinations at Weeks 0 (AHI), 12, 96, and 288 following antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Convergence in Distribution of Random Measures
Let $(S, \mathscr{I})$ be a measurable space, $M$ the set of all finite measures on $\mathscr{I}, \mathscr{F}_M$ the $\sigma$-algebra generated by the family of all measurable cylindrical sets $\cap^k_{i=1} \{\mu \in M: \mu(A_i) \leqq a_i\}$. With each probability measure $P$ on $\mathscr{F}_M$ the family $\{P_{A_1}, \cdots, A_k\}$ of all finite ...

Gravity‐Dependent Modulation of Downbeat Nystagmus: Insights From Velocity‐Storage Dysfunction
ABSTRACT Objective Downbeat nystagmus varies with head position, a phenomenon termed gravity‐dependent modulation. We aimed to clarify its mechanism using a velocity‐storage model. Methods In 10 patients with downbeat nystagmus due to cerebellar disorders, we recorded eye movements at different pitch‐ and roll‐axis head positions.

On almost sure convergence rates for the kernel estimator of a covariance operator under negative association [PDF]
It is suppose that $\{X_n,~n\geq 1\}$ is a strictly stationary sequence of negatively associated random variables with continuous distribution function F.
