Optometry and Vision Science, 1984
A retrospective study of 110 subjects with convergence insufficiency has been completed. Their mean age was 19.9 years. There were 72 females and 38 males in the group. The clinical profiles of these subjects were examined before and after a standard orthoptic treatment regimen. Over the course of treatment, the near angle of deviation, the AC/A ratio,

Associated convergence and accommodative insufficiency
Documenta Ophthalmologica, 1973Nine patients were described with a syndrome consisting of accommodative and convergence insufficiency. All but two had received extensive orthoptic therapy without benefit in the past. Near points of convergence and accommodation, fusional amplitudes and the AC/A ratio were determined and the data compared with those from a group with ordinary ...

Convergence Insufficiency With Normal Parameters

Characteristics of Convergence Insufficiency
Optometry and Vision Science, 1988Convergence insufficiency (CI) is a well-known syndrome of binocular visual dysfunction. In a review of 58 papers, considerable variation was noted in the criteria used to define the condition. Symptoms and decreased positive fusional vergences (both at the nearpoint) were the only criteria named in more than one-half of the studies.

Current concepts in convergence insufficiency
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2018As the majority of our patients are spending significant time using computers and reading, it is important to understand any disease process that can affect one's near vision. Convergence insufficiency, not an uncommon condition, is still not screened for by most eyecare professionals.

Convergence Insufficiency and Vision Therapy
Pediatric Clinics of North America, 2014There is no standard meaning of the term "vision therapy", and for this reason it is often a controversial topic between some members of the ophthalmic and optometric community. Most pediatric ophthalmologists avoid using the term because it is nonspecific.

Posttraumatic convergence insufficiency.
Annals of ophthalmology, 1986Convergence insufficiency was encountered following closed head trauma in 23 patients. The most common complaints included difficulty reading and diplopia at near. The severity of the head trauma varied. There was no correlation between the severity of the head trauma and the severity of the convergence insufficiency. A normal near point of convergence

Convergence amplitude insufficiency.
Annals of ophthalmology, 1984There is a frequently overlooked group of patients, usually under 20 years of age, with typical symptoms of convergence insufficiency and diminished convergence amplitudes, but with normal near point of convergence. We studied ten cases of this type, which we call convergence amplitude insufficiency. The diagnosis in such patients will not be missed if
