Absolute measurement of detector quantum efficiency using optical parametric down-conversion pumped by femtosecond laser pulses

open access: yes, 2002
Absolute measurement of detector quantum efficiency using optical parametric down-conversion has been extensively studied for the case of a continuous wave pump.

High Efficiency Solar Cell Panel [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Solar Cells of at least 10% conversion efficiency were fabricated from silicon wafers of one inch diameter and the same processing procedure was applied to wafers of three inch diameter.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A 2.4 GHz High-Efficiency Rectifier Circuit for Ambient Low Electromagnetic Power Harvesting

open access: yesSensors
A novel 2.4 GHz high-efficiency rectifier circuit suitable for working under very-low-input electromagnetic (EM) power conditions (−20 to −10 dBm) is proposed for typical indoor power harvesting.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

GROWTH, YIELD AND RADIATION ENERGY CONVERSION EFFICIENCY ON VARIETIES AND PLANT POPULATION OF LOWLAND RICE

open access: yesAgricultura
Solar energy significantly affects sustainability and yield in rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivation. This study examined the effects of different plant spacing on the growth, yield, and conversion efficiency (CE) of three rice varieties (ARICA-3, NERICA L ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Second law analysis of the 160 Wp standalone solar photovoltaic system

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sustainable Energy, 2019
The demand for solar photovoltaic (SPV) systems is growing all over the world due to the continuous increase in the cost of conventional means of power. India has the advantage of around 300 clear sunny days in a year.

Harvesting sunshine: solar cells, photosynthesis and the thermodynamics of light

open access: yes, 2012
Effective capture of sunlight represents one of the grand challenges of photovoltaics today. This paper looks at the opportunities that exist, at the fundamental level, to manage light as the first step of photovoltaic conversion; in particular, how ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
