Determining inventory levels in a CONWIP controlled job shop
IIE Transactions, 2000We extend the concept of CONWIP control to a job shop setting, in which multiple products with distinct routings compete for the same set of resources. The problem is to determine the fixed overall WIP level and its allocation to product types (WIP mix) to meet a uniformly high customer service requirement for each product type.

Dynamic decentralised balancing of CONWIP production systems
International Journal of Production Research, 2009This paper presents a non-linear programming model for online balancing of the work-in-queue (WIQ) of a fast response production system that consists of multiple workstations and diverse part mix. The model resembles a multiple product CONWIP system with a variety of products’ routings and bottlenecks.
