Cognitive and Neuroimaging Divergence Between Juvenile and Adult FUS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Fused in sarcoma (FUS)‐associated juvenile ALS (jALS) represents a distinct and aggressive subgroup with rapid deterioration and poor prognosis.

Since the equilibrium composition of strange matter is crucial to the accurate calculation of its neutrino energy loss rates, we determine the composition by using the thermodynamic potentials (per unit volume) of the strange matter, and find that the electron abundance decreases with the strong interaction coupling constant or ba-ryon density.

Symbiotic star candidates in Gaia Data Release 3
Symbiotic stars, binary pairs with a cool giant fueling accretion onto a hot compact companion, offer unique insights to our understanding of stellar evolution. Yet, only a few hundred symbiotic stars are confirmed.

Ariel stellar characterisation
Context. The characterisation of exoplanetary systems depends on the accurate determination of host star parameters. The Ariel mission will probe the atmospheres of a statistically significant sample of exoplanets, and so requires a precise ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

TRAPPIST-UCDTS: A prototype search for habitable planets transiting ultra-cool stars
The ∼1000 nearest ultra-cool stars (spectral type M6 and latter) represent a unique opportunity for the search for life outside solar system. Due to their small luminosity, their habitable zone is 30–100 times closer than for the Sun, the corresponding ...
