Peer-to-peer cooperative GNSS-based localization for stationary reference nodes in wireless sensor networks

open access: yes, 2017
Most localization algorithms in wireless sensor networks rely on a few reference nodes with known locations to estimate the locations of unknown nodes.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Cooperative Wireless Networks for Localization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis adresses the problem of localization, and analyzes its crucial aspects, within the context of cooperative WSNs. The three main issues discussed in the following are: network synchronization, position estimate and tracking. Time synchronization is a fundamental requirement for every network.

Cooperative Localization Under Limited Connectivity

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2019
We report two decentralized multi-agent cooperative localization algorithms in which, to reduce the communication cost, inter-agent state estimate correlations are not maintained but accounted for implicitly. In our first algorithm, to guarantee filter consistency, we account for unknown inter-agent correlations via an upper bound on the joint ...

A Multisensor Fusion-Based Cooperative Localization Scheme in Vehicle Networks

open access: yes, 2022
Utilizing the measured distance and information exchanged between two different nodes to cooperatively locate in a mobile network has become a solution to replace global navigation satellite system (GNSS) positioning.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Data-Driven Cooperative Localization Algorithm for Deep-Sea Landing Vehicles Under Track Slippage

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The deep-sea landing vehicle (DSLV) swarm exploration system is a novel platform for the detection of marine mineral resources. A high-precision cooperative localization system with Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL), Doppler Velocity Log (DVL), and electronic ...
