Cd(II)-Based Coordination Polymers and Supramolecular Complexes Containing Dianiline Chromophores: Synthesis, Crystal Structures, and Photoluminescence Properties

open access: yes
Five new coordination compounds that included three coordination polymers and two supramolecular complexes were obtained by reactions of different cadmium salts (tetrafluoroborate, nitrate, and perchlorate) with dianiline chromophores, 4,4&prime ...

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Coordination-driven structural evolution of flumequine with transition metals, molecular docking and its biological implications

open access: yesNext Materials
The coordination chemistry of flumequine was investigated through the synthesis of a series of transition metal complexes with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cr(III), Hg(II), and Cd(II) ions in a 1:2 metal-to-ligand ratio. Infrared spectral data

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Synthesis, Characterization and Crystal Structures of Nitrate and Tetrachloridocobalt(II) Salts of Cobalt(III) Complexes with Catalytic Epoxidation of Cyclooctene

open access: yesActa Chimica Slovenica
Two new cobalt(III) complexes, [CoL2]NO3 (1) and [CoL2]2[CoCl4] (2), where L is 5-bromo-2-(((2-isopropylamino)ethyl)imino)methyl)phenolate, have been prepared and characterized by physico-chemical methods and single crystal X-ray analysis.

Coordination chemistry of cis,trans-1,3,5-Triaminocyclohexane : from mononuclear complexes to supramolecular architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The coordination chemistry of the rigid, aliphatic triamino ligand \(cis,trans\)-1,3,5-triaminocyclohexane (\(trans\)-tach) is investigated. With closed shell transition metals, \(trans\)-tach forms 1-D {Ag(OTf), ZnCl\(_2\)} networks and a 3-D {AgNO\(_3\)

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.
